Easy Salmon Fry

When we used to live in the west coast Salmon was one of our favorites. Pacific Salmon is definitely tastier than the Atlantic one :-) But still we can make a lot of dishes out of Salmon - no matter what variety you have access to. Moreover, Salmon is good for ya. So without further ado, here is one for today:

Ingredients:

Red chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
Salt- 1 teaspoon
Curry masala – 1 teaspoon or Cumin, Coriander powder- 1/2 teaspoon each
Ginger garlic paste- 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice- 1 teaspoon
Soy sauce- 1 teaspoon [optional]
Oil- 1 tablespoon
Salmon - 1 lb, cut it into 4 squares

Directions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients and spread it on both sides of the fish.
  2. Marinate at least for 30 minutes.
  3. Pour oil in a shallow pan and roast the marinated Salmon pieces in medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side.

Note: You could use any fish available, by the way. If the fish has thick flesh, make small slits with a knife to allow the masala to go deep inside. When you pan-roast the Salmon, it will go from pink to pale pink - this is an indication that the Salmon is cooked. If you are calorie conscious, bake the fish in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes on each side.

Anthony has introduced us so many new bloggers and recipes through his curry mela. Congrats and keep up the good work. Here is my first entry to Anthony's 21st curry mela.
